1. Introduction
1.1. Access Bank Ghana Plc (“Access Bank”) is a Savings & Loans company incorporated in Ghana, regulated and licensed by the Bank of Ghana. Access Bank has a client focused philosophy and aims to provide top-notch financial services to individuals and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.
1.2. Access Bank, in collaboration with Fido, is offering a Savings Product (the “Product” or “EasySave Account”) to eligible Fido customers (“Customers”). The Product will be delivered to Customers through the Fido App.
1.3. Through the Product, Customers will be able to open a savings account with Access Bank (“EasySave Account” or “Account”) and earn competitive interest.
1.4. All applications for an EasySave Account shall be exclusively made, and approved on the Fido App. You may however access your funds through the Fido App or by visiting any Access Bank branch.
1.5. By applying for an EasySave Account, you agree to these terms and conditions as well as Fido’s General Terms of Service (“T&Cs”), all necessary changes having been made. If there is any conflict between the terms and conditions in this document and Fido’s General Terms of Service, the terms and conditions of this document shall prevail.
1.6. If you do not agree with these T&Cs do not proceed with the application process for an EasySave Account.
2. Overview
2.1. This document sets out the terms and conditions that will govern your relationship with Access Bank if you apply for an EasySave Account. Please read these terms and conditions carefully.
2.2. The Product is only available to eligible Fido customers.
3. Eligibility
Access Bank shall offer the Product only to eligible Fido customers as determined by Fido. Fido may change the eligibility criteria at any time at its sole discretion.
4. Your EasySave Account
4.1. Your application for an EasySave Account will be appraised in accordance with Access Bank’s account opening policies and requirements which may be revised from time to time.
4.2. Access Bank and Fido reserve the right to approve or reject your application without further recourse to you.
4.3. You may fund your account by standing order or debit instruction, when this functionality is enabled.
4.4. By agreeing to these T&Cs, you hereby authorise Access Bank or Fido to debit your designated mobile money wallet in accordance with any mandate given, and to credit your EasySave Account with the amount debited.
5. Minimum Balance
5.1. You are required to maintain a minimum balance of GHS10 in your EasySave Account for your account to remain open.
5.2. If your account balance falls below GHS10 your account will be closed.
6. Deposits
6.1. You can only make deposits to your EasySave Account using the Fido App.
6.2. The minimum amount you can deposit is GHS10.
6.3. It may take up to 5 days for your deposit to be fully processed. If your deposit does not reflect in your account within 24 hours please reach to the Fido or Access Bank customer service team.
7. Interest
7.1. You shall be entitled to interest on your EasySave Account at an effective rate of 10% per annum. Your interest shall accrue daily and shall be reflected in your Account at the end of each day.
7.2. The interest shall start accruing the day after you make your deposit.
7.3. Access Bank reserves the right to amend the interest rate and associated terms at any point in time without prior notice to you.
8. Withdrawals
8.1. You may make withdrawal requests from your EasySave Account at any time provided that you have sufficient funds. The amount withdrawn shall be credited into your designated mobile money account.
8.2. Withdrawals may take up to 5 working days from the time of request to be fully processed.
8.3. You may make a withdrawal request through the Fido App or by visiting any Access Bank branch.
8.4. If you decide to withdraw your entire savings balance (leaving a balance of GHS0 in your account), your Account will be closed.
9. Account Closing
9.1. You may close your account with Access Bank at any time via the Fido App provided that you have no outstanding liabilities to Access Bank.
9.2. Access Bank and/or Fido may choose to end its relationship with you at any time upon giving reasonable notice, except under specific circumstances, including a suspicion that you have committed or attempted fraud, impersonation, forgery, etc.
9.3. Access Bank and/or Fido may limit your ability to make deposits if you are late on or have defaulted on your Fido loan.
10. Anti-Money Laundering
10.1. Access Bank and Fido’s Anti-Money Laundering (“AML/CFT & P Policy”) shall form part of the terms and conditions governing your relationship with Access Bank.
10.2. In line with clause 10.1, Access Bank or Fido shall, without recourse to you, implement enforcement action against you or your EasySave Account if you are found on any watchlist, sanctions list, or politically exposed persons list, or are found to be in breach of the AML/CFT & P Policy or any directives are issued by the relevant regulatory authority(ies).
11. Amendment to Product Terms & Conditions
11.1. Access Bank reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without giving notice to You and the said amendment to the extent that it does not affect the material terms set out in the Agreement shall be binding on You.
12. Discontinuation of the Product
12.1. Access Bank may discontinue the Product at any point in time, with prior notice to you. Any discontinuation shall be in accordance with consumer protection principles.
13. Disclosure of Information, Data Retention & Use of Data
13.1. You agree that Access Bank or Fido may:
13.1.1. query third parties for Your information for KYC/AML purposes and for purposes of aiding Fido make a decision in respect of Your application.
13.1.2. report to the appropriate authorities in the case of suspected fraud or unlawful activity and Access Bank shall cooperate with the lawful authorities in respect of any investigation into any suspected unlawful activity by you.
13.1.3. disclose any KYC/CDD details, savings balance, and other Account details to any of your relatives in the event you become deceased, pursuant only to a request made by your relatives upon production of a death certificate.
13.1.4. in accordance with Section 32 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2020 (Act 1044), maintain records of your transactions and other records required by Act 1044 (including your personal data) as obligated by law, for a period of at least five (5) years from the date of the transaction, after the end of your business relationship with Fido, and from the date the report was made to the Financial Intelligence Centre, as the case may be.
13.1.5. share your personal information with each other for purposes related to the Product.
13.2. You agree to hold Access Bank and Fido harmless from any and all claims, demands, costs, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees and legal costs) arising out of or in connection with such disclosures, except in the case of negligence or fraud on the part of Fido.
