What you will do

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and present accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory standards.‍

Regulatory Compliance:
‍

Ensure timely submission of financial reports to the Bank of Ghana and other relevant regulatory bodies, maintaining full compliance at all times

Audit Coordination:

Liaise with external auditors (E&Y) during annual audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and audit-ready.

Internal Controls:

Collaborate with the internal auditor to assess and improve internal control systems ; Implement and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and uphold financial integrity.

Tax Management:

Oversee tax planning and compliance, including VAT and WHT, ensuring timely filings and payments.

ERP Implementation:

Lead the implementation of a new ERP system (Sage X3), including the integration of the payroll module and fixed assets module.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Partner with the Head of Treasury & FP&A to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor a team of two qualified accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Who you are

‍

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, CFA, ICA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance leadership role within a financial institution regulated by the Bank of Ghana (preferably consumer lending)
  • Strong knowledge and application of IFRS
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling to support strategic planning
  • Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across multicultural environments
  • Tech-savvy; proficient in finance systems and advanced Excel for financial analysis and reporting
  • Prior experience with Sage ERP (especially Sage X3) is a strong advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders
